Viewing coastal architecture via kayak is an ideal way to experience what can’t be seen from the street. Grand Canal paddlers will get views of select Sarasota School Houses: Tim Siebert’s Thyne-Swain #2 1960, Dickerson Residence 1960 and De Young Residence 1963; Jack West’s Myrtle West House 1952 - - in addition to several SSA-influenced residences from the 1950s and 60s. Commentary from a nature guide complements the guided architectural narrative.
Each tour runs approximately 2 hours.
Requires previous kayaking experience. Not advised for those with health conditions; no children under 6.
